Windy Heights is a 400-acre regenerative farm on the Northeast Avalon Peninsula, 15 minutes from St. John’s. Organic, sustainable processes are utilized to rejuvenate and build the soil and grow the farm products. The farm has been in existence for 50+ years and we purchased it in 2018.
We are Gerard Walsh, Anita Walsh, and Gerry Walsh, a father, mother, and son team. We are skilled trades and professionals in our own rights who love to farm.
We made a lifestyle choice to go organic and regenerative and designed an indoor mushroom operation to provide year-round production while building up a livestock operation in specialty northern climate-adapted heritage breeds and a vegetable market garden. The vision is to supply gourmet mushrooms, fine meats and vegetable supplies to the adjacent St. John’s Urban Market.
